About Us

Humanchine Company is dedicated to the design and development of products that improve our lives. Our design philosophy is that the best solution has the lowest possible impact on our time and environment. Products should be easy to take for granted.

Our original technique for product development has been honed through years of prototyping and product delivery. We achieve higher speed, flexibility, and faster discovery through technique. The projects that achieve the most success are those approached with a broad and flexible conceptualization of their solution. The first step of development is discovering the product requirements. Once the requirements are loosely understood, they are recorded and shared. With a clear target based on evidence (or written hypothesis), multiple product solutions are generated. Compromises of each can be recorded and shared. With a strong foundation of product definition, future decisions can be made quickly, and their justifications shared. Product development is guided by cost, time, and performance. By recording parameters along the way, our customers get peace of mind that the presented solution is the best solution for their business case. When the data is not strong enough to show a clear “best solution” we provide intuition, record our assumptions, and move forward. Our technique is one that builds a product portfolio simultaneously with development, and, through a development record, our clients gain robust mechanical technology.       

The ideal product is one that is defined, whose complete specifications are delivered to the manufacturer, and then put into service. The goal is always simple, but achieving it requires flexibility, collaboration, and focus. 

With years of experience designing large mechanical structures for the solar power plant market, we have shown that this design philosophy applies to problems having both high and low cost solutions. We do it right the first time, and we do it simply.

Because our customers end up with product solutions that are innovative, yet simple, they are often kept secret until ready for advertisement. We often must wait for the product release before images can be displayed publicly.

A Note From The Founder

“Selecting Humanchine to create your mechanical design solutions will accelerate your product quality, both immediately and during following iterations. The service that we provide not only delivers a best in class 1st run product, but also a unique methodology for developing the product, which accelerates the timeline to achievement of customer demands. The methodology relies on a simple record keeping of the product design possibilities (and challenges) explored through each phase and feature. Additionally, the master model method is employed to ensure small changes that trickle into many parts (e.g. changes in overall geometry due to a strength requirement) do not incur large design costs or risks. Master model product creation also enables the rapid generation of parallel design solutions, where the geometry of each concept is drastically different (e.g. due to alternative or optional product function), but where it is uncertain which direction will make it to the production stage until after some prototyping and sourcing  work is complete. I have not found a more successful development system anywhere else. I hope to share it with others in all industries.
